1. Cream of the Crop Educator Newsletter
CFAITC's back-to-school mailing went out the first week of September and should be hitting your mailbox soon. The mailing includes a copy of the fall issue of Cream of the Crop and the Imagine this... story writing contest brochure. Both can be downloaded from the Web site or if you know someone who's not on the list, they can sign-up online.

2. Imagine this... Story Writing Contest
Deadline: Nov. 1, 2008

3. Resource Recommendations
Have you used or created an agriculture-related resource recently? We'd love to hear about it! Fill out a Resource Recommendation Form to submit it for consideration for inclusion in future editions of the Teacher Resource Guide. Submit your recommendation by Sept. 14 and we'll send you a copy of the Sept./Oct. 2008 issue of California Country magazine.

The September/October 2008 issue of California Country magazine includes features about healthy eating in schools, ag career profiles, and canning fresh fruits and vegetables.

California School Garden Network (CSGN) is encouraging schools throughout California to host garden activities and events to celebrate the success of school gardens across California.

7. LA School Garden Resource Fair
Sept. 27, 2008, 10am - 2pm, free

This annual fair sponsored by the LAUSD Instructional School Garden Program and CSGN Los Angeles will host more than 50 resource tables and distribute more than 50,000 free vegetable seedlings.
